![]() This fixture has a watertight die-cast aluminum housing with a corrosion-resistant gray finish. I'm sure there are instances where this type of light would be well suited but it is not for lighting even a medium sized yard. When you need a professional-grade security solution, this flood light delivers 9000 Lumens of glare-free 4000K bright white light to illuminate barns, warehouses, loading bays and roads from dusk to dawn. The reason I choose this light was it was close in price to an 150w HPS wallpack and was touted as being superior. To compare, on a nearby building is a 150w HPS Nema head, or bucket light whatever you prefer to call it, and it is both significantly brighter and the light is spread over a much larger area. It also claims to replace up to a 250w HID, which is also not accurate. It was sold with me being under the impression that it could light a large are, which it will not. Best For Patio: LEPOWER 35W Dusk to Dawn LED Security Lights. Like I said though it does light the intended area OK, though two lights would have been more ideal since the light is directed mostly downward. Here are the best dusk to dawn lights you can buy in 2023: Best Overall: Shine Tech LED Security Area Light 40 Watts. It had an optional refractor that supposedly helps to spread the light. ![]() It is mounted about 16' high and there ends up being a bright area directly under the light and the light level quickly tapers off as you get away from it. I am not completely dissatisfied with it as I was not intending to light up a large are with it, 80' wide shed with a short drive way in front. ![]() But I installed an LED "wallpack", a Cooper XTOR5ARL. I have been a little wary of all the LED fixtures out there, typically staying with HID when it makes sense. Thought I would revive this with some recent experience. ![]()
